In the panel of international experts on the possibilities of implementing carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS) for the implementation of decarbonization, Board Member of SCHWENK Latvija, Environmental and Legal Director Evita Goša strongly pointed out the absence of an appropriate legal framework for CCUS and the need to develop one as soon as possible, as well as the importance of cooperation throughout the value chain. At the same time, Evita Goša noted the steps taken by SCHWENK Latvija in achieving the goals of climate neutrality – changes in the production process and the use of alternative fuels, achieving a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, as well as efforts to reach infrastructure and technologies that will give us opportunities to capture emissions for storage and further use in the future.
